Open MRI

Merrimack Valley MRI recognizes that a patient’s comfort is a critical element in performing an MRI study. For patients who are larger or claustrophobic, our G.E. OpenSpeed provides an MRI solution with a high comfort level and excellent images. Since the system does not have a conventional MRI’s “tube” design, patients can be positioned so that the clinical area of interest is in the magnet’s “sweet spot”. This may be valuable in performing certain orthopedic studies, such as examinations of the shoulder.

This is an MRI with a truly open design aimed at patient comfort. Our OpenSpeed also incorporates the very latest upgrades in technology from General Electric. This Open MRI is available at our Methuen facility (directions).

The GE 0.7 Tesla OpenSpeed open MRI offers a quality MRI alternative for claustrophobic or larger patients.
