Our Facilities

For more than 20 years, Merrimack Valley MRI has been the area’s leading provider of state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging. We are unique in offering a full range of MRI systems – including advanced 3T, conventional 1.5T, and “open” MRI -- to meet every patient’s needs. Our recently installed 3 Tesla MRI represents the latest and most advanced MRI technology available. Our goal is to provide referring physicians with the diagnostic imaging resources they need to resolve complex patient issues in a timely fashion and with state-of-the-art technology.

We have two convenient locations to serve your patients:

Merrimack Valley MRI on the grounds of Holy Family Hospital, 70 East Street, Methuen, MA

At our Methuen facility we have two state-of-the-art MRI scanners:

  • A GE Signa HDx 3 Tesla MRI, the most advanced high-field scanner available from GE, offering superior scanning in many clinical areas, including, orthopedic, neurologic, and breast MRI studies as well as MR angiography exams
  • An “open” design GE 0.7 Tesla OpenSpeed MRI that allows us to easily serve claustrophobic or large patients.

We offer superior convenience in scheduling – our Methuen site is open 7 days a week, from 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM. We also provide after hours emergency on-call coverage.

Merrimack Valley MRI at 29 Stiles Road, Salem, NH

At our Salem, NH facility we have:

  • A Siemens 1.5 Tesla Sonata MRI, conveniently located on the first floor of a new medical campus at 29 Stiles Road, offering a quality MRI alternative for patients who may reside or work in southern New Hampshire.

Ordering An MRI For Your Patient

A written order is required for each MRI exam. For your convenience we have developed a streamlined MRI order form, which is a downloaded pdf (MVMRI Order Form). Using this form, please select the location and type of MRI equipment (3T, .7T Open, in Methuen, MA or 1.5 Tesla in Salem, NH) best suited to your patient’s needs and fax it to the number listed on the form.

Both of our sites have advanced MRI equipment staffed by highly trained personnel. A number of the radiologic staff have advanced subspecialty training in Neuroradiology, interventional and MRA studies, and in breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsy. Our centers have been accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

We always strive for rapid turnaround in appointment time as well as very rapid turnaround in returning a study report to referring physicians. As part of this effort, referring physician offices can easily be tied in to our PACS system, offering access via the internet to images and reports on your PC desktop.
